We stop, not because we are tired, but to savor the view of snow-covered mountains framed against the sky.

The sun is brightly reflecting off the snow, making it difficult to open my eyes!

With the clear sky, we can see Mt. Adams and as far as Mt. Hood (Oregon).

We were in no rush today, and this is just another pause to look around and enjoy.

At lunch time, we find a nice hill-with-a-view to eat then practice ice ax techniques
